Welcome to Paperbird (the "Platform", "Service", "we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any personal data you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we store and process it, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information We Collect

We collect a minimal amount of information required to provide our original literature sharing service:

• Authentication and Account Data: When you register or sign in using your Google account (via Supabase Auth), we receive your email address, full name, and your Google profile photo.
• User Profile Data: You may choose to customize your profile by selecting a username, writing a biography (bio), and adding support or social links.
• User Content and Interaction Data: We store the stories, chapters, comments, reviews, likes, bookmarks, and follows you submit to the Platform.
• Usage Data: We track basic interactions, such as daily story view counts, to compile the "Trending This Week" list. We also utilize Vercel Web Analytics to measure site speed and page performance.

3. How Your Information is Used and Stored

Service Delivery: We use your account information to authenticate you, keep you signed in, manage your custom author portfolio, and deliver notifications inside your private inbox.

Data Security: All user records, account data, and literature contents are securely hosted and managed in our Supabase databases. Your database credentials and secure session tokens are handled strictly by industry-standard encryption protocols.

No Selling or Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal data to third parties. We only transmit data to our direct technical infrastructure partners (such as Supabase for database storage and Vercel for web hosting and analytics) solely to host and deliver the Platform.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and local storage tokens strictly to enable necessary platform features:

• Auth Cookies: Supabase uses secure cookies to maintain your login session across page reloads.
• Rate Limiting: We use your browser's local storage to prevent duplicate view tracking on a single story within a 24-hour window.

5. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You hold complete control over your personal data:

Permanent Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly through your profile settings ("Delete Account" button).

Due to our cascading database constraints, deleting your account instantly and irreversibly erases your profile, stories, chapters, comments, likes, and follows from our servers, and deletes your registration from Supabase Auth.
