Summary

When ants begin carrying fragments of paint, wallpaper, ceramic, and other material from damage that has not yet occurred, a tenant starts mapping their routes through the walls of an aging house. What first appears to be an impossible infestation gradually reveals a hidden anatomy assembled across different moments in time—and the house is still waiting for several essential pieces.
